New Layout on F1R
2009-08-13 12-16-07_0001

yesterday (Wednesday), we closed the shop in honor of Mother’s Day (Thailand).  while everyone took the day off, we stayed in the shop to modify the track layout.  its not quite as technical but will certainly present challenges with its narrow avenues and sweeping curves.  after a recent discussion with active members, we’ve also moved race day to Sundays @ 4pm.  if you plan on racing, be sure to come in during the week for some extra practice on the new layout.  lots of new items coming into the shop over the next few days, check back on Monday for that along with a race report.

first, lets welcome our newest NRC (NanoTrax Racing Club) Member, Max… he’s got a brand new bar down the street from NanoTrax called OxyBar.  be sure to stop by his spot for a nite out & welcome him to the club.  he picked up a dNano Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution & hopped it up immediately with a Ball Bearings Set.  check out pics of him & his new model on the NanoBoards Forum.  i recommend to every customer that if they want an immediate noticeable difference in performance, 3 hop-ups are “must have”: Ball Bearings, Ball Differential & a Gyro.

yesterday, we got a new shipment of various parts we already had in stock & one new item:  The McLaren F1 GTR!  i’m excited about this one as its one of my favorite body styles.  it sports an MM Chassis which is also my preference but, wifey has put the handcuffs on my new dNano acquisitions.  the sets we got in stock are reserved for new customers so if you’re a collector or a racer, come thru & pick one up @ the shop now!

last but not least, a quick report on tire choice for dNano.  i put a new set of front tires on the Porsche 911 GT3 recently, part #DNT002-60.  this the hardest tire composition available & the difference in performance is extreme.  i tried the tires on my Mazda 787b & the results were the same.  cornering at speed is non-existent on smooth PVC rubber surfaces using this tire composition.  the noticeably worn #50′s i have stick VERY well & often cause a rollover when turning at speed.  at this point, i recommend a #40 on our track for brand new tires & no harder than slightly worn #50′s.
