i’ve had two Mini Z *MR-03* Chassis Sets in stock since before they were officially released but no one seemed to be interested so they’d sat on the shelf waiting for someone to claim and breathe life into them. after discussions with our local Mini Z expert (RobbyDV) and another member sparked my interest (Ek), i confiscated one of the sets for myself and ordered some option parts cuz anyone who knows anything about the “D” or the “Z”, knows they just aren’t what they can be right out of the box. my list included 1) ball bearings (Kyosho), 2) ball differential (Kyosho) 3) 94mm motor pod v2 (Atomic) 4) 94mm titanium damper kit (Atomic), 5) lexan t-plates (Atomic), 6) low down front springs (PN Racing), 7) king pin shims (PN Racing), 8) gyro (X-Power), 9) metal servo gear (Kyosho), 10) IC Tag (Kyosho) and 11) a clear grey skeleton (Kyosho). most important of each of these was the skeleton because i’ve never worked on a Mini Z so my ignorance needed some attendance and rebuilding one with a fresh skeleton would force me to do it and get it right. no need for a meticulous set of construction pics, at the heart of this hobby is DIY (do-it-yourself) so, i won’t bore you with the details, let’s just say every step of dismantling, rebuilding and replacing was a learning process. surprisingly it only took yesterday afternoon and a coffee-fueled morning session to get it all together and running properly. none of my cars are shelf queens, so when i do get the chance to throw this baby down on a circuit, it’ll be ready to blaze. i’ve coveted the ADVAN Supra JGTC 2003 GT Limited Edition ASC for some time and the 94mm motor pod allowed me to set the chassis up to fit this impressive shell. many of the option parts i’ve installed are now available in our online shop, so if you’re looking to hook up your Z, login for convenient online shopping. there are a few other option parts i still need including some decent tires (the stock just don’t give any grip on any surface i’m aware of) but this is just the beginning. want to discuss your Mini Z projects? stop by the forum and share your thoughts and experience with our community. unfortunately, we won’t be racing Mini Z @ nanotrax due to size limitations but we shall see – perhaps a nanotrax 2 for the Z? who knows what the future could bring? ;-)
when we first opened NanoTrax in 2009, almost 1 year ago, no one really knew much about what was in store for the world of miniature R/C. as we grew, so did interest in this scale of this hobby and we were approached by many from visitors and admirers to vendors of related products. After Atomic & PN Racing, X-Power made their move on the dNano & Mini Z aftermarket parts sector and into our inventory in Fall 2009. their products are now a popular alternative option for dNano fans worldwide. we’re recently added and updated their products at our online shop and you’ll find them also available at other respected online retailers. check the gallery below for all the latest additions including Auto Scale Collection items for Mini Z and visit our Used & Discounted section for amazing clearance prices.
Hizashi Suzuki was the founder of a company that has brightened the lives of many with a simple concept: JOY. Kyosho and many R/C fans including myself, mourn the loss of Mr. Suzuki, an icon in the radio control model industry. my sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and scores of employees who helped to make his dreams a daily reality. with that sad news given, i’ll simply report my addition of several new items to the shop which – of course – feature Kyosho Auto Scale Collection items. please visit the shop for the latest additions.
i had to make a special post for the items that arrived today since it included the Mazda RX-7 Automotive Okabe Makazu (MR-03) Chassis Set. i have a feeling this will go pretty quick so unfortunately, i won’t get the chance to test it out. we also got the new Kyosho Catalog and Brochure, neither with many surprises but its always cool to get the “wish book” ;-)
dNaNo Aston Martin Racing DBR9: its finally here and Olaf (CHE), our most recent member and a highly skilled competitor, picks up the all new dNaNo. he’s been a regular here @ NanoTrax for a while but he had his eyes set on this beauty. after a long hard day of struggling with customs, its here along with the new Ferrari F40 (Yellow). in addition to dNaNo items, there are a couple of hot new Auto Scale Collection bodies for the Mini-Z AWD Chassis (MA-010) now available. i’ve been busy recently with day to day business management issues and that’s the reason i haven’t updated in a while. if i’m not updating on the blog, visit the forum to contact me or participate in discussion on dNaNo, Mini-Z and other R/C related topics. i gotta be brief for this update but i should have time for a new commercial or dNaNo disection sometime this month so i’ll have more for you guys soon. thanks for all the support and as usual, please send all comments directly to qon@nanotrax.net. if you’re interested in picking up the latest in dNaNo parts & accessories, browse our online shop. see ya on race day!
the feature item for today’s incoming inventory is the adapter that allows one to use the very popular Futaba 3PK and Sanwa M11 (aka Airtronics) transmitters with 2.4GhZ dNaNo and Mini-Z. i special ordered this item from Japan knowing that many want easy access to this solution. remember, this is only an adapter and you’ll need to use it in combination with the KO Propo 2.4GhZ Module for Mini-Z. i have a limited number in stock so order now before the locals pick them off! additionally, a few more Auto Scale items with a dNaNo “twin” arrived and finally, acrylic bumpers for Mini-Z are now a part of our inventory. if you want to keep your Mini-Z body in pristine condition, these should help (designed for use in combination with the Mini-Z IC Tag).
hot topics on the forum include “Diff Oil for dNaNo“, the new “Perfex KT-18 Black“, and our “Weekend Race Report“. check the included for pics of new inventory and join the forum for discussion on dNaNo, Mini-Z and a full range of radio control racing & model topics. currently, i’m working on a presentation for the ExPats Club, a new commercial and the next dNaNo dIsection – check ya later!
a little car for a big guy: Slim (ENG) joined the NRC and chose the car that we think is his ideal match. his Lancia Delta HF Integrale is all hopped up and ready to make moves on our circuits. in addition to all the other hop-ups, he threw on some 18′ gold rims helping to increase the ride height and stability (stock are 17′, FR size). the car is fast and i was even able to push it to under 7 seconds on F1R. our club is slowly growing but getting the guys in for weekly racing is a difficult task. perhaps my expectations are high considering we’re just reaching the end of our 5th month in full operation? active members are ready for a new track layout so we’ll be busy installing it tomorrow (Sunday, Sept 26). sorry, we’re too anxious to wait for the 50 votes required on the forum poll :-P

Incoming Inventory
today, we received a healthy shipment of Auto Scale Collection items for dNaNo & Mini-Z. for some time now, we’ve only had complete chassis sets available but considering we’re the leading location in Thailand to buy dNaNo, i felt it was necessary to stock Fitting Parts Sets & corresponding bodies for customers who would like to change their car without necessarily having to buy a new one. if you’re not aware, i’m here to inform you that your dNaNo is very specific so in order to change the body, you have to change the moving chassis as well – unlike many other r/c models before it where any body fits on a standard chassis. check the gallery to review dNaNo option parts, dNaNo Auto Scale, Mini-Z Auto Scale & Mini-Z option parts now available in the showroom at NanoTrax, Pattaya. i’ve discussed online sales directly with Kyosho and we’re clear to sell Mini-Z around the world and dNaNo in Thailand so expect online shopping to open within the next 3 months. until that time, please contact us directly by email if you want to arrange purchase of available items.

Head 2 Head (Mini-Z)
think you’ve got what it takes to battle it out on Race Course F1R? now that we have the Mini-Z IC Tag, we’re now able to offer Mini-Z for race rental (MR-02_LM Chassis, Porsche 962CLH ASC). currently, there are 2 available models so you and a friend can compete at NanoTrax at the standard Mini-Z Rental rate of 350 ThB per hour (200 ThB for dNano). place your 1500 ThB insurance/deposit per model, drive with care & earn bragging rights on F1R or F2L (Mini-Z ASC bodies are relatively easy to damage so i recommend anyone renting Mini-Z have some considerable experience with R/C racing).
New Visitors
traffic is picking up quickly at NanoTrax so i want to quickly acknowledge our most recent visitors, Chris & Cee. Max brought them in to find a new hobby and i think we turned them into instant R/C addicts. Cee tried a few dNaNo’s and settled in on the McLaren F1 GTR while Chris is stuck on the Porsche 911 GT3. i’m still waiting for my contact to deliver more chassis sets so as soon as i have them, i think they’ll make that move and join the club for some weekly club racing action. if you’re new to R/C, don’t worry! most interested folks that come in have never touched a pistol grip transmitter but quickly ease into it after only a few minutes. a desire to compete, a good attitude & a little spare cash is all you need to become our most competitive club member. up next, i’m going to produce a quick dNaNo breakdown video in Thai so check back in 3 days for an update.
after a long wait, we’ve finally got new items into inventory. this time, we wanted to stock up on Mini-Z models for the showroom so our order consisted mostly of auto-scale bodies. next time, we’ll focus on more parts, accessories and maybe some of the newly released readysets, chassis sets and auto scale bodies. i stuck to my personal taste in body choices so i hope our customers will like the items i decided on. i’d say we’re still a bit short on opening stock but i’m so much less stressed about that now. if you’re in thailand and you’re interested in picking up any of the items before the shop opens, send us an email or use the info on our contact page.
