Brian’s Porsche 917k
dNaNo Porsche 917k 1970 LeMans Winner

last week, a quiet American named Brian visited us and seemed to have a genuine interest in R/C of all types including airplanes and gliders.  he attended last week’s club race and he was hooked.  shortly thereafter, he chose the first in his collection, the Porsche 917k 1970 LeMans Winner.  like me, he’s a guy who likes to study his car and slowly add option parts to observe how each improves handling & stability.  i’m sure he’ll be a formidable competitor in our championship points race.  for this week’s race, i’ve decided to go with the Porsche 911 GT3.  unfortunately, its not competitive without adding weight for stability during high speed cornering.  i’ll post pics and discussion about that on the forum, so check-in with your input and start your own threads to help our community thrive.  tomorrow (Saturday, February 20th) is our next race day, so look for the latest race report and championship points race standings on the forum as well.  for the latest info on products available in the shop. browse to our online shop to conveniently pick up any and everything you need for your dNaNo and even various items for Mini-Z and Minium AD.

White Audi R8

the Audi R8 (White) arrived today bringing our available dNaNo inventory to 29 of 33 models.  recently, Kyosho released the Aston Martin Racing DBR9 which will be on its way shortly to NanoTrax.  if you’re interested in pre-ordering, register and once i’ve confirmed inventory, pricing and arrival dates, i’ll send an e-mail to everyone with your chance to be one of the first owners at an outstanding price.  i’ve already decided to keep one for myself since its the first with the next generation battery case.  there’s been a lot of anticipation about this model and i’m anxious to see how it performs.  the dNaNo Home Circuit was also released and i’ll have only 2 of those in stock – if interested, you should probably be a registered subscriber for the first opportunity at our limited stock (FYI: the Kyosho IC Tag Lap Counter is already available in our online shop).

in other news, we now have a new sign outside of the shop and for the last few days, we’ve been entertaining Mai, another Porsche 911 GT3 owner.  he’s in the area for work and needed a place to relax and enjoy a new hobby so we’re glad he’s chosen NanoTrax and dNaNo.  check the gallery for a few “latest news” photos.  last but not least, i’ve officially started writing dNaNo dIsection 3:  Bearings & Diffs so expect that to be released in no more than 3-4 days (no… really, i’m serious this time!).  i’m no hollywood producer but i try to keep it entertaining when discussing my nerdy interests.  yes, i’m a nerd and proud of my nerdity (not to be confused with nudity but i’m kinda proud of that too).  Sunday race turnout was low with only Chris & me dropping dNaNo’s on the circuit so we both bulked up an extra 5 pts.  check the forum for the latest on points ranking & other dNaNo discussion.

GT3 Finale
nanotrax_2009-07-05_0012

sunday at NanoTrax is like the weekend wrap up and this one wrapped with a heavy dose of fun.  Dahm visited with his young protege and spent a couple hours racing with the NanoTrax girls.  it was perfect timing as they’re visit was followed by rain which pointed out the advantage of R/C at our shop:  indoors, air conditioned and DRY.  Dahm mentioned he was interested in picking up the one & only Porsche 911 GT3 we have in stock but postponed his purchase again.  unfortunately for him, he’s missed his chance as our newest owner, Gary (from England) visited again today to take the prize off the market.  i probably won’t have another 911 GT3 in the shop for at least 2 months so, its always special to get what you want when its available is it could be gone minutes later!  he opted for a nice selection of option parts (Ball Differential, Ball Bearings, Aluminum Rear Wheel Hubs, Black Front/Rear Wheels, Carbon Rear Suspension Plate (S)) and got an excellent deal on the package since we’re running promotions at the moment.  the black rims make the the pure white Porsche look like a sinister stalking machine and i’m sure it will be as he develops his skills.  my son, Paris and my mom will be in from the US for a few days so we’ll be taking the next couple days off at NanoTrax.  the shop will re-open on Thursday afternoon, ready for weekend racing action.  if you have a competitive spirit, you like cool cars and are willing to learn, make R/C your hobby and join us.  any questions or comments, as always, shoot us an email or register and post here on the blog or forum.

RC-Plus Stickers

we want your input on a few things, so i’ve started several new threads on the forum. as i get feedback and suggestions on our Track Rules, Member Options & Food Menu, i’ll update those threads. please take a moment to reply even if you’re not here in Pattaya. if you are, jumping on the forum will be a great way to introduce yourself to us and other R/C fans in the area. to motivate you even more, we’ll do a NanoTrax Polo Shirt Giveaway to a random member of the forum after we’ve reached 100 members. to participate, register on the blog (form text color problem in Internet Explorer has been fixed) & your forum account will be activated shortly after.

i went to the post office box today and found new body decals! thanks to James at RC-Plus.net for sending those over to us. unfortunately, the dNano bodies are too small for most of the stickers but as you can see in the small gallery, i squeezed a couple onto the side doors. it definitely helped the look since the porsche was starting to look a little beat down.  at the moment, i’m waiting for an order to come in so expect a post including pics of a new model in a few days.  the shop is making progress… should have some new pics of that on next post as well.
