No Worries, Mate!

on Wednesday, we welcomed Doug (AUS) who joined our club almost immediately after a few test runs on F1R.  he picked up the Lamborghini Gallardo and a full assortment of option parts in preparation for our upcoming club race.  today, he was in for practice and decided to add the X-Power SSG-DSP Kit i mentioned in my most recent YouTube update.  that video has got everyone asking:  ‘which dNaNo can have the Damper Kit installed without cutting a hole in the body?’ – if your car isn’t in the list below, this means you have to cut a hole in your ASC body to install the damper.  those listed, do NOT need cutting for the damper to fit.  FYI, the damper kit can’t be installed on any dNaNo with an HM Chassis so, sorry Lancia Delta HF Integrale owners!  i’ve also posted a few pics of how i’ve cut my Mazda 787b No.55 Mazda Racing ASC body (the latest incarnation).  my next few posts will be on our forum so check there for the latest race reports, product info, feedback and more.  holla later!

Silver 911 GT3

the past 3 weeks, we’ve had the fortune of welcoming 4 new members including today’s newest addition to the club, Hugh (UK). he’s a guy with similar tastes to my own cuz he chose to start his collection with the Mazda 787b No.55 LeMans Winner.  he’s started out with just a few option parts (ball bearings + gyro) and is planning to stop in for practice regularly just to enjoy the atmosphere and the hobby.  currently, the final Thailand Buggy Party is being held @ Pattya R/C Powerboat so we’re also getting a lot of R/C fans visiting from Bangkok.  the venue is only a few minutes away from NanoTrax so we’re looking forward to welcoming more as the days go on.

i was up early this morning trying to get the Mazda 787b back in shape and ready for the race on sunday but it looks like Joom’s Porsche 911 GT3 will have to play the role of ‘superman’ to come back and save the day.  i’ve tricked it out with the PN Racing 10-Spoke Aluminum Wheels and an X-Power SSG DSP Damper Kit to give it a fresh look on the road back to supremacy on Circuit F1R.  Robby is currently clocking average laptimes of 8.7 seconds, a full second faster than all other driver averages.  on his last visit, the 911 GT3 was the ‘David’ that vanquished ‘Goliath’ so let’s see if we can make that happen again this time around.  after the club race, i’ll post a report on the forum.  see ya on the circuit!

Robby’s Nissan Fairlady Z

only a couple months after our grand opening, a visitor from Belgium named Robby DV visited NanoTrax for a few days and stunned us with extraordinary skill driving a Mazda 787b.  he left promising to return for more in December.  true to his word, he’s come back to join as the latest member @ NanoTrax but now, he’s chosen the Nissan Fairlady Z GT500 Class (Motul Autech Z) as his representative in our dNaNo club racing.  this means i’ll go back to ‘old faithful’, the Mazda 787b (now with gold plated body!) for club racing on Sunday.  tomorrow should be very interesting since we have 3 drivers from Belgium (Robby, Vincent, Erwin), 3 highly skilled Thai drivers (Tee, Nu, Neung), myself and possibly others… the battle is only for bragging rights + the fun & love of dNaNo racing.  this weekend is Father’s Day in Thailand so shipping on orders from our online shop will be delayed until Tuesday but otherwise, everything is business as usual.  expect an update on new, exclusive items added to the shop within the next few days.   for those who have sent an e-mail, thanks for your support and personal contact.  it feels good to know people actual read what i write – lol ;-).

Battle of the Mazdas

normally when visitors contact me after visiting our site, the most common thing i hear is how much they’d like to visit and they’ll stop in when they finally come to Thailand.  my most recent email was from a guy named RobbyDV.  when this tall, quiet man walked into our shop with his dNaNo ready to hit the circuits, i had no idea who he was.  i was pleasantly surprised after he introduced himself and proceeded to show us his gear.  instead of a pistol grip, Robby uses a KO Propo Esprit III Universe stick control transmitter.  everyone sort of looked like, ‘what’s he gonna do with that??’ – then he brought out his clean, all new dNaNo Mazda 787b.  the only optional part he’d installed was a gyro so i figured he wouldn’t much competition – i couldn’t be more wrong.  RobbyDV hit F1R and put Belgium on the dNaNo drivers map for everyone witnessing his performance.  of course, i had to pull out my hopped up – but badly bruised & broken bodied – Mazda 787b to go head to head.  he worked me over a few times due to my lack of high performance practice but when he came back the next day, i had to show him what was really happenin’! eventually, he picked up a few option parts & put my favorite car to rest but i pulled out the Porsche 911 GT3 and he couldn’t handle it!  win or lose, it was a pleasure having him come to my home court and whip me into shape… he’s a top notch driver & i’d have a tough time beating him with everything equal.  i look forward receiving more top notch dNaNo enthusiasts into the shop soon – it only makes me better!

yesterday, our friend Pee Lek came in with his family from Bangkok & brought his Mini-Z AWD for some drift action.  turns out we’ll need to modify the flooring on Race Course F2L in order to accomodate Mini-Z Drift but its important that we incorporate it into our plan.  there are lots of drift fans, car owners & hobbyists who would like enjoy a place like NanoTrax and we are listening to their calls for that outlet.  we’ve already began ordering items for people already racing Mini-Z and you’ll see that new inventory coming in this week & possibly a new online shop opening at NanoTrax so check back in about 2-3 days for another update.
