this weekend was special in many ways. PJ‘s birthday is February 13th and mine is on the 14th (as reported last year) so that means, Joom -being the wonderful wifey she is- went out of her way to do something special for us. check out the beautiful, ‘dnano style’ birthday cake she secretly ordered and prepared for our this weekend in the gallery. she’s great and i’m blessed to have her taking care of me and nanotrax every day. PJ is now 10 years old and hopefully he’ll be here again to visit us this summer which -of course- i’ll tell you all about.
i know its been a while since my last blog update but i’ve been very busy taking care of customers here in the shop, enjoying dnano personally and looking out for my international customers as well. i installed lights onto the Countache LP500S which doesn’t lend itself well to LED light installation due to the limited space under the ‘hood’. it does look cool though as you can see in the pics. i also recently built a ‘Race Spec‘ Special (additional items include Aluminum Wheels, SSG-DPS Damper, Ceramic Diff Balls & Bearings + Hot Motor) for Alex from Greece. it took about 3 hrs to do the build including the holes that had to be put into the 787b Auto Scale Body. fortunately, drilling into it didn’t bring tears to my eyes this time.
today was also special as we welcomed a new member but i won’t post about him until he’s chosen a dNaNo but everyone enjoyed a round of draft beer on the house today to welcome him when he came in to watch and help marshal our club race. the usual suspects made their appearance and it was close competition as everyone’s skills improve as time goes on. i normally go with a car that i’m not so proficient with but this week, i felt like dominating and i did with my favorite 787b. i get no accolades for winning, just satisfaction that my example encourages everyone to improve and raise the level of close competition. eventually, they’ll be beating me down and i’ll be struggling for wins so i guess i should enjoy it while i can (lol). Dylan lost a tire again and Ian dropped a notch in the final results due to a crash in the last minute of the final! here are the results of today’s race along with championship standings:
