it was a busy day @ NanoTrax today. after some breakage on my Mini-Z body & a long discussion with Joom & Nong Ao (our new NanoTrax Tech), we decided it was best to modify the layout on Race Course F1R (1st Floor Racing/Rectangle). the original layout was discouraging to visitors new to R/C & experienced Mini-Z drivers felt the course was a bit too technical. we spent about 4 hours pulling up the “Curve Challenge” course & installing the “Basic Showroom” version. as you can see in the photos, the current layout has a long straight & sweeping curves that should be less daunting to new racers. we also modified the turn circles using the curb rubber eliminating any significant damage to car bodies. of course we had to add a touch of my own art to them making the track even more colorful than the original layout.
Race Course F2L is complete. we’ll pick up chairs, tables, computer for race tracking & final dressings for 2nd floor sometime this week. i’ve posted a few pictures & given the track a test run. its too small for Mini-Z but perfect for racing dNano in a relaxed location with friends, beer & good service. the new course is fast & gives way to power sliding which i’ve never seen the dNano do. i think its cuz i’m finally able to go WOT (wide open throttle) & break into a turn at speed. its a pretty sweet effect… i’ll be working on promo videos & press releases this week so i should have some footage for YouTube soon. while i’m thinking about it, i want to highlight another unique feature of NanoTrax Lounge: The dNano Dock. this is our computer workstation where visitors can 1) use the Kyosho ICS USB Adapter for dNano & Mini-Z, 2) access PDF support files for both dNano & Mini-Z, 3) browse the internet & 4) print documents. its just one of the benefits of being a NanoTrax member with full access to the lounge. check out pics of the dNano Dock in today’s gallery
with 2nd floor complete, NanoTrax Grand Opening has now been scheduled for May 30, 2009. we’ll do it relatively quiet inviting friends & reporters in for a tour following the traditional Buddhist blessing. all interested parties are welcome to stop by, we’ll have dNano’s available for test driving, drink specials & possibly some well known people in from Bangkok for a nice opening ceremony. register to post comments here or on the forum to give your feedback on the new courses. see ya on the track!
