its a shame i’m so horrible with names because we’ve had a load of new visitors and made so many new friends but i can’t keep up with all of them! not only have we had a steady flow of old friends, we’re getting new ones from our feature on XTV, produced by Pattaya Channel. they’ve yet to release it on YouTube but when they have, i’ll load it here @nanotrax. check out the gallery to see whose been in and what we’ve been up to. i’ve been busy with multiple projects and admittedly lazy with race reporting but believe me, we’ve had a few and its been fun in small groups. check out our new fan page on Facebook and if you’re looking for the latest parts for dNano and Auto Scale Collection items for Mini Z, stop by our online shop. that’s the short of it for now, i’ll catch ya in a few days when i have more to report. thanks for your continued support!
Joy & Nax from Channel 5′s Travel Note visited the shop as reported last month and they sent the video to us for posting @ YouTube. it’s in Thai, but i’ll get around to adding english subtitles here soon. if you haven’t heard me speak the language, this is only my 2nd time doing so in an interview and the 1st time on national TV – enjoy ;)
yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Nax & Joy from TV5′s tourism feature program, Travel Note. they found us online and made an appointment to stop in for a visit while in Pattaya. i escorted them thru a full tour of the shop and raced with them on F1R giving them an all new experience i believe they both enjoyed. Ann, the show’s producer, promised to let us know when the show will air and when i know, i’ll be sure to post the info here. maybe this is just the first of many visits by Thai celebrities? just as a last FYI, we’ve added the new Perfex KT-18 “Black” 2.4GhZ Transmitter to the online shop so if you’re looking for the perfect tool for use with Mini-Z MR-03 or dNaNo, then pick up one while supplies last!
this is the first version of the NanoTrax Promo that will air on local cable networks. i’ll produce 3 versions & add voice over for TV rotation. once this is done, i’ll put together the next dNaNo breakdown episode. you can also find all videos published on NanoTrax YouTube Channel as well.
i’m a little late on the update cuz we’ve been busy researching advertising possibilities, doing interviews and working on my ‘dNaNo dIseCtion‘ video series.the guys from Top TV Thailand came in for a tour & interview which aired last night. they’ve given us permission to post the interview here so as soon as i figure out to rip the DVD they dropped off for our review yesterday. they are a very talented team and i’m happy they chose us for a feature on their local tv show. if you’re in Pattaya, view the brodcast on Sophon Cable (Channel 14) & find their show listed @ TCC4You. be sure to visit their YouTube Channel to check out their work but only if you can understand Thai! i have a feeling they’re going to grow into serious, big network television producers in the near future.
VIP Member Card Arrival
this week, our NanoTrax VIP Member Cards came in so if you’re already a member, be sure to stop by to pick yours up. if you’re not a member yet & you’re in Pattaya, stop by our R/C Hobby Shop on Thep Prasit Rd. for more information & give a dNaNo a test run. we LOVE beginners so don’t be afraid to give R/C racing a try, this may be the hobby you’ve been looking for! i’ve gotta go back to my role as director, producer & editor so i gotta keep this update short. check back in about 2 days for the release of ‘dNaNo dIseCtion’ – Episode 1. we’ll compare & break down the dNaNo Ferrari F40 & McLaren F1 GTR. which will perform better on Race Course F1R?
thanks to everyone who attended our grand opening yesterday, it was a pleasure having you here! we started off the day with a traditional buddhist blessing given by 9 monks. our visitors began to arrive including news reporters & good friends. shortly therafter, Laew Jhek cut the ceremonial shop ribbon to officially open NanoTrax and begin the tour of the shop. everyone ended up on the 2nd floor lounge, trading turns racing dNanos on Race Course F2L. i think we picked up a few new R/C addicts including several female drivers. the rest of the day, a few more people dropped in to bring gifts and get their own tour of the shop. Khun Eau, our shipping coordinator from TPP Shipping came through with 2 girlfriends and they all took a mini-r/c crash course in the lounge. a big thanks to all the news reporters who took interest in our facility including the guys from R/C Action, Pattaya People and Pattaya Expat. big shout to my close friend, Dee, for being my camera man, he’s responsible for the beautiful pics in the gallery. the food & drink was provided by Dave from Manhattan’s Pattaya and last but not least, our friends from PRC, Thum & Yoh visited this morning with a beautiful flower arrangement from Charlie Siribodhi, President of the RCCA.
New Pricing & Shop Schedule
after a long discussion with the Mrs. NanoTrax, we’ve decided to cut our prices to the bones in a radical attempt to turn more visitors into dNano owners. the more ‘owners’ we have, the more participation in scheduled racing at NanoTrax. review the table below for current pricing on all featured services and products.

it was a busy day @ NanoTrax today. after some breakage on my Mini-Z body & a long discussion with Joom & Nong Ao (our new NanoTrax Tech), we decided it was best to modify the layout on Race Course F1R(1st Floor Racing/Rectangle). the original layout was discouraging to visitors new to R/C & experienced Mini-Z drivers felt the course was a bit too technical. we spent about 4 hours pulling up the “Curve Challenge” course & installing the “Basic Showroom” version. as you can see in the photos, the current layout has a long straight & sweeping curves that should be less daunting to new racers. we also modified the turn circles using the curb rubber eliminating any significant damage to car bodies. of course we had to add a touch of my own art to them making the track even more colorful than the original layout.
Race Course F2L is complete. we’ll pick up chairs, tables, computer for race tracking & final dressings for 2nd floor sometime this week. i’ve posted a few pictures & given the track a test run. its too small for Mini-Z but perfect for racing dNano in a relaxed location with friends, beer & good service. the new course is fast & gives way to power sliding which i’ve never seen the dNano do. i think its cuz i’m finally able to go WOT (wide open throttle) & break into a turn at speed. its a pretty sweet effect… i’ll be working on promo videos & press releases this week so i should have some footage for YouTube soon. while i’m thinking about it, i want to highlight another unique feature of NanoTrax Lounge: The dNano Dock. this is our computer workstation where visitors can 1) use the Kyosho ICS USB Adapter for dNano & Mini-Z, 2) access PDF support files for both dNano & Mini-Z, 3) browse the internet & 4) print documents. its just one of the benefits of being a NanoTrax member with full access to the lounge. check out pics of the dNano Dock in today’s gallery
with 2nd floor complete, NanoTrax Grand Opening has now been scheduled for May 30, 2009. we’ll do it relatively quiet inviting friends & reporters in for a tour following the traditional Buddhist blessing. all interested parties are welcome to stop by, we’ll have dNano’s available for test driving, drink specials & possibly some well known people in from Bangkok for a nice opening ceremony. register to post comments here or on the forum to give your feedback on the new courses. see ya on the track!
